ANPP salutes our tireless treasurer, Dr. Paul Klerks. Paul began volunteering with ANPP upon his retirement from UL Lafayette's Biology Department where his research focused on ecotoxicology. Paul was also Director of the UL Ecology Center. "It is a pleasure volunteering with ANPP. I get to work with a bunch of great people, get to make a small contribution to dealing with the world's biodiversity crisis, and get exposed to native plant expertise. ANPP knowledge and plants have also helped us to improve our own yard, with a lot more native plants (but still a long way to go), and more insects and birds. Not only better for the environment, but also more suitable for Arlene and me since we enjoy gardening, bird watching, and nature photography."
