ANPP propagation volunteers Heather Warner Finley and
Gail Evans celebrates the Lafayette Parish Master Gardeners
gold-level certification.
Propagation volunteers Heather Warner Finley and Gail Evans initiated the application process by documenting 90 native species throughout the small beds that make up their demonstration gardens at UL Lafayette's Ira Nelson Horticulture Center. Native species were well represented in their themed butterfly, herb, wildlife, ornamental grasses, Cajun Prairie and, of course, native beds. Many of these Master Gardeners are also active with the Acadiana Native Plant Project and have had their own gardens certified. Also shown is Sara Shields, LSUAg Center’s coordinator for all the Master Gardener programs in Louisiana.
