Featured Native Plant Advocate and Volunteer: Gail Evans Gail Evans is a passionate promoter of native plants and pollinators. After family, plants occupy much of her time and attention. Gail was raised near Bogalusa and spent most of her adult life in Texas. After she retired from teaching math to junior high schoolers (quite an accomplishment!), she moved to Acadiana and pursued an interest in Cajun music and dancing. She joined the Lafayette Parish Master Gardeners and in 2018 joined ANPP in our first year. She has been one of our most active volunteers, working Tuesday mornings at the Arnaudville greenhouse and leading workdays at Vermilionville rain garden. She joined the ANPP board in 2020 and assumed duties as propagation leader in Arnaudville this year. Gail has an eagle eye for spotting new natives and a deep curiosity to learn more about them using identification tools such as iNaturalist, Ladybird Johnson Wildflower Center and the USGS Guide to the Plants of Louisiana. Thank you Gail for your energy, knowledge and interest in Greauxing Native!
