Andre Daugereaux celebrates the gold-level certification
at the UL Ecology Center.
ANPP congratulates Andre Daugereaux, manager of the UL Ecology Center for having the Center designated as a Gold level Louisiana Certified Habitat. The Ecology Center is a 60+ acre facility of the university's Research Office where diverse activities related to coastal, wetland and prairie research and teaching are supported. The center has large greenhouse spaces available for research. In 2014, they formalized their prairie research and conservation efforts with the launch of PureNative, a University supported venture that makes local seed available for restoration projects. It is one of the few sources of native seed available for such purposes. Learn more about the center's work to conserve and propagate local ecotypes of native plants of the Cajun Prairie at Ecology.Louisiana.edu. He plans to add a few more species this spring.
