WHAT WE DO

We PROPAGATE, DEMONSTRATE and EDUCATE

Our major activity to “promote the use of natives in our landscape” is also our major fundraiser. In the spring, we propagate dozens of favorite native plant species of our region from seed or cuttings at our greenhouse, the June Walker Memorial Greenhouse, in Arnaudville LA at Teche Farm, in collaboration with Nunu Arts and Culture Collective.

We also have installed a Demonstration Garden at Acadian Village, around the Bernard House near the entrance. This garden was designed by Bill Fontenot and installed and maintained by ANPP volunteers. We also help maintain the Rain Garden at Vermilionville, which is also a showcase of local plants that help manage water and nurture a healthy ecosystem.

We help educate others through our monthly meetings, site tours and information tables at public events.
